University of Pennsylvania Assistant Professor of Neurology - AC Track

Description

The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Headache Neurology. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The successful applicants will be board certified in Neurology. Additional fellowship training in headache is helpful, but not required. Candidates with experience in neuro-otology, behavioral neurology, neuromuscular diseases, or other subspecialties with an interested in headache clinical care will also be considered.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, residents and headache fellows in the outpatient clinic and instructing clinical residents, fellows in allied specialties such as ENT, pain management, internal medicine, and family medicine. You will also teach didactics in the resident curriculum and there is an opportunity to teach in the preclinical Brain and Behavior course also are provided.

Clinical responsibilities may include personal clinics at Pennsylvania Hospital, which would include clinical visits and procedural visits. In addition to general headache patients, you would develop a subspecialty specialized clinics such as facial pain, or headache in pregnancy. You would also have attending responsibilities for resident clinics at HUP. Participation in clinical trial recruitment, CME activities, and quality improvement initiatives is welcome.
