Position Overview
The Department of Neurology at RWJMS seeks candidates to participate in clinical care, teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities in Behavioral Neurology. Rank and track will be consistent with qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care:
- Evaluate and monitor Behavioral Neurology patients, including those with Alzheimer’s Disease
- Maintain follow-up care and communication with other providers
- Participate in night call and weekend inpatient coverage at Barnabas-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in rotation
- Act as principal or sub-investigator in clinical trials sponsored by industry or other sources
- Refer patients to clinical trials and support research activities
Teaching:
- Teach and mentor medical students, neurology residents, Behavioral Neurology fellows, and rotators from other departments
- Conduct teaching in inpatient/outpatient settings, seminars, and occasional formal lectures
- Supervise weekly resident continuity clinics
Research/Scholarship:
- Perform and publish research consistent with the track of the appointment (Professional Practice, Clinical Educator, or Clinical Scholar)
- Participate in scholarly productivity and departmental research culture
Administrative & Community Service:
- Participate in departmental and institutional committees
- Attend departmental and faculty meetings
- Engage in community service such as providing neurological care to underserved populations
- Maintain continuing education and Board certification in neurology and relevant subspecialties
Minimum Qualifications
- M.D. degree
- Graduate of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency
- Board-certified or eligible in neurology
- Eligible for a New Jersey medical license
