Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The primary purpose of the University Sustainability Officer (USO) is to develop and manage programs that address university strategic goals and ensure compliance with policies and regulations for environmental stewardship
- Manage and lead the sustainability team and various University-wide initiatives and programs.
- Create, set & evaluate sustainability goals.
- Balance the competing needs and available resources to achieve stewardship across the dimensions of business management, development, energy use, operations and regulatory requirements.
- Clearly & effectively contribute to the development of operational & project planning the sustainability choices and trade-offs to maximize the impact of practices that fulfill the requirements of the position.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field; and 10 years of progressively responsible experience in sustainability, including at least five (5) years in a leadership role.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
- Experience in the Sustainability field.
