Qualifications: Applicants must possess an M.S. or Ph.D. in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related discipline at the time of appointment and possess a record of experience indicating high potential for teaching excellence at the University of Oklahoma. The candidate will be expected to teach up to 3 courses per semester, to develop and teach courses of programmatic need, to broadly participate in the development of new curricula, and to participate in intramural and extramural service.

The School is housed within the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences. The Mission of the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences is to offer the following: innovative and multi-disciplinary education, research, and outreach programs in an environment that empowers students, faculty, and staff to seek solutions to grand environmental and humanitarian challenges; to advance technology and propel knowledge that addresses our changing planet; and to develop engaged individuals for rewarding careers in the private sector, academia, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and entrepreneurship.
To support existing teaching needs and planned curricula developments, we seek an experienced professional to join the School's faculty in a renewable term appointment as Instructor (completed M.S.) or Lecturer (completed Ph.D.). The ideal candidate will have the following: i) sufficient expertise in the atmospheric sciences to broadly support and expand our undergraduate degree programs and general education coursework, and ii) unique experience(s) in one or more of the following areas - private sector meteorology, emergency management, weather/climate risk, science/forecast communication, aviation meteorology, broadcast meteorology, and/or insurance/reinsurance.
