This position will be assigned snow removal and on-call responsibilities in support of departmental operations. Responsibilities -Coordinate and perform campus-wide moving services for faculty, staff, students, healthcare operations, and research departments. -Move and relocate office furniture, modular workstations, filing systems, classroom furnishings, laboratory equipment, medical devices, research instruments, and other specialty items. -Operate commercial vehicles, flatbed trucks, forklifts, telehandlers, loaders, and other material-handling equipment to safely transport materials and equipment throughout campus. -Load, unload, secure, transport, and position furniture and equipment using proper lifting, rigging, and safe material-handling techniques.-Review work orders and coordinate move schedules to ensure the timely completion of departmental requests. -Work directly with campus customers to plan and execute office relocations, departmental moves, renovations, and special projects while providing exceptional customer service. -Support surplus property transfers, furniture redistribution efforts, and campus logistics operations. -Safely operate moving and lifting equipment in office buildings, laboratories, healthcare facilities, residence halls, and other campus environments. -Perform snow removal and winter response activities as assigned to support essential campus operations. -Conduct daily inspections of vehicles, forklifts, and moving equipment to ensure safe operating conditions. -Perform routine preventive maintenance and cleaning of assigned vehicles and equipment. -Maintain accurate records of move requests, vehicle inspections, equipment usage, and completed work assignments. -Maintain a safe, professional, and customer-focused work environment while representing Facilities Management Minimum Qualifications EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels: Vehicle Operator, III: Requires 3+ years of related experience.
