Kern Community College District accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. The starting salary range is $60.00/hour.

Representative Duties

This is for an adjunct pool that will be used to staff part-time adjunct positions.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling OR the equivalent. A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience in serving veteran students. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and counseling Student Veterans, providing academic counseling and support services, and contributing to the development of programs and services for student veterans. Ability to create education plans in strict accordance with Veterans Affairs regulations allowing students to maintain eligibility for military service-related educational benefits. Ability to work with a diverse student population with specific emphasis on student veterans or active-duty military personnel.
