The role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented vHive Support Assistant (Sustainability) to join our innovative Veterinary Health Innovation Engine (vHive) team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. In this pivotal role, you will support a wide range of activities, with a particular focus on an exciting new Sustainability Incentives Project. You'll contribute to meaningful research and innovation that advances animal health while also addressing environmental impact.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a central point of contact for sustainability project queries
- Maintaining project records, databases, timelines, and documentation
- Coordinating and supporting meetings, events, and stakeholder communications
- Helping prepare presentations and summary reports for internal and external use
- Liaising with NGOs, government agencies, and other project partners
- Supporting the smooth delivery of wider vHive initiatives, including the vHive Incubator
You’ll work closely with a friendly, cross-functional team and will play a key role in shaping efficient administrative systems and fostering collaborative relationships.
About you
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and committed to high standards of service. You will need to demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience working in an administrative or secretarial capacity
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Confident in using Microsoft Office and managing digital calendars (e.g. Outlook)
- A professional and discreet approach to handling sensitive information
A background in higher education or animal health is helpful but not essential – what matters most is your willingness to learn, collaborate, and adapt in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
