At a time when higher education is navigating increasingly complex issues, Lake Forst College seeks a thoughtful, collaborative, and courageous leader who can foster an environment in which people engage across differences with curiosity and respect.
Located thirty miles north of Chicago on the shores of Lake Michigan, Lake Forest College integrates a liberal arts education with hands-on career preparation and pragmatic learning experiences. Lake Forest enrolls more than 1,800 students from 40+ states and 100+ countries. It is one of the most diverse small colleges in the Midwest, with more than 40% of its students being domestic students of color and international students. The College also enrolls a significant number of first-generation and otherwise traditionally underrepresented students.
The VPCCB will be responsible for advancing initiatives across the full breadth of the institution that foster equitable access to academic, co-curricular, and residential programs. As a key member of the President’s Cabinet, the Vice President will work in close partnership with the Provost, the vice presidents, and other campus leaders to align belonging-centered efforts across all divisions and programs.
Areas of oversight include Student Affairs (including the Dean of Students’ Office, Gates Center for Leadership and Personal Growth, International Student Services, Residence Life, Health and Wellness Center), the Office for CARE (the Office for Community Advocacy, Resources, and Empowerment), and Title IX.
Qualifications for this position include a master’s degree (required); a doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree is preferred; at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education, with developed expertise in student affairs and in institutional equity, diversity and inclusion efforts; a demonstrated ability to lead, prioritize, and champion community-wide initiatives that enhance inclusion for students, faculty, and staff; a deep understanding of and commitment to equity, access, and student well-being frameworks; exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with a proven record of collaboration across divisions; and demonstrated success in recruiting, developing, mentoring, and retaining talented staff, and in building teams that bring a broad range of perspectives, experiences, and strengths.

The estimated salary range for this position is $170,000 - $200,000. In addition to salary, the selected candidate will be eligible to participate in The College’s standard benefit package. Benefit information is located on The College’s Employee Benefits website.
