General Summary:
The Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success serves as the College's chief student affairs officer and provides visionary and inclusive leadership for comprehensive student services that foster belonging, community vibrancy, and student success. Reporting directly to the President, this position oversees the College's Enrollment Management and Student Affairs functions, ensuring a seamless, student-centered experience from recruitment through graduation.
The Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success provides strategic oversight for Enrollment Management, including Admissions, Registrar's Office, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, and the International Student Office as well the Dean of Students Office, SUCCESS Scholars Program, TRIO Programs, Student Access and Support Services (SASS), Wellness Center, Academic Support Programs (ACE), and the Office of Student Engagement, working collaboratively across divisions to align policies, practices, and resources with MCC's mission which emphasizes access, early momentum, milestone progress, and mobility as pathways to individual and community vibrancy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership and Planning
- Serve as a key member of the President's Leadership Council (PLC), providing leadership in all matters related to student success, community vibrancy, and the overall student experience.
- Lead and integrate student affairs and enrollment management planning, assessment, and continuous improvement processes aligned with MCC's Strategic Plan
- Develop and oversee strategies that advance student access, belonging, retention, completion, and post-graduation success.
- Collaborate with the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs and other PLC members to implement Guided Pathways, Navigate (EAB), and data-informed student success initiatives.
- Enrollment Management Oversight
- Provide executive oversight of Admissions, Registrar's Office, Financial Aid, and Enrollment Services, ensuring efficient, equitable, and student-friendly processes.
- Develop and monitor data-informed enrollment and retention goals in collaboration with Institutional Research and Creative Communications.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations related to financial aid, FERPA, Title IV, and other enrollment processes.
- Student Development and Support
- Provide leadership for a comprehensive and holistic student development model encompassing Dean of Students, SUCCESS Scholars, TRIO Programs, SASS, Wellness Center, Academic Support Programs, and Student Engagement.
- Promote an environment that supports academic and personal growth, mental health, leadership development, and student well-being.
- Oversee the College's Orientation Plus and First Year Experience (FYE) programs in partnership with Academic Affairs
- Community Vibrancy and Student Advocacy
- Advance the implementation of the Community Vibrancy Framework, ensuring that MCC's student affairs initiatives connect student success to regional well-being and social mobility.
- Lead efforts to remove barriers to access and persistence while strengthening student belonging and civic engagement.
- Advocate for student needs and ensure transparent, equitable student conduct and grievance procedures.
- Champion a culture of shared responsibility where student success contributes to the broader vitality of the communities MCC serves.
- Collaboration and Institutional Effectiveness
- Work closely with Academic Affairs, Finance, Institutional Research, and Human Resources to ensure effective alignment of policies, budgeting, and strategic goals.
- Partner with faculty and staff to enhance academic and co-curricular integration, particularly during the first year of college.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards (NECHE), state and federal requirements, and institutional policies.
- Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate senior leaders within Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.
- Foster a collaborative, student-centered, and community-vibrant divisional culture that values inclusion, integrity, and innovation.
- Promote professional development, leadership growth, and succession planning within the division.
- Community and External Relations
- Represent MCC in community partnerships, statewide committees, and professional organizations related to student affairs, enrollment management, and student success.
- Collaborate with high schools, community organizations, and transfer institutions to strengthen educational pathways and community outcomes.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, enrollment management, or related field required.
- Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience in student affairs and/or enrollment management, preferably in a community college.
- Demonstrated success in leading diverse teams and implementing initiatives that improve student retention, completion, and community impact.
- Strong understanding of compliance areas including Title IX, Clery, FERPA, ADA, and financial aid regulations.
- Proven ability to manage complex budgets and use data for strategic decision-making.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and change management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in higher education, organizational leadership, or related field.
- Experience in a collective bargaining environment.
- Success with grant-funded programs, student success innovations, and regional partnership development.
- Familiarity with Banner, Degree Works, EAB Navigate, and data-informed student success systems.
- Demonstrated engagement with statewide or national initiatives related to student access, mobility, and community vibrancy.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $180,000 - $190,000; actual salary commensurate with academic background and experience. Employees of Middlesex Community College are considered employees of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and receive benefits, which include: [list of benefits].
Location: Lowell and Bedford campuses as needed
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, schedule to be determined upon hire
