Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Management
Position Overview:
South Piedmont Community College is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and results-oriented leader to serve as Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Management (VPSEM). Reporting directly to the President, the VPSEM provides executive leadership for Admissions and Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, the Registrar's Office, Academic Advising, Institutional Effectiveness, Data Analytics and Reporting, and College Compliance.
The VPSEM is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic enrollment management framework that supports student access, progression, completion, transfer, workforce readiness, and post-completion success. This position plays a critical role in aligning enrollment strategies with institutional priorities, workforce demand, guided pathways, and student success initiatives while ensuring a seamless, student-centered experience from application through credential attainment.
The VPSEM also provides leadership for institutional effectiveness and compliance functions, ensuring the College maintains compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and North Carolina Community College System requirements while fostering a culture of evidence-based decision-making, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties Summary
Strategic Enrollment Leadership
- Develop, implement, and continuously assess a comprehensive Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan aligned with institutional priorities and student success outcomes.
- Establish enrollment targets and performance metrics tied to institutional growth, workforce demand, retention, completion, and post-completion outcomes.
- Lead enrollment forecasting efforts and utilize data analytics to support strategic planning, operational effectiveness, and resource allocation.
- Provide leadership for institutional initiatives focused on improving access, onboarding, persistence, progression, completion, and transfer outcomes.
Enrollment Strategy and Student Experience
- Lead enrollment strategies from inquiry through onboarding and early student success to ensure a seamless and student-centered experience.
- Collaborate with leadership to align enrollment strategies with program capacity, workforce priorities, and labor market needs.
- Strengthen structured onboarding and guided pathways initiatives to support student momentum and reduce barriers to completion.
- Ensure enrollment-related policies, procedures, and services are efficient, student-centered, and aligned with institutional goals.
- Improve application-to-enrollment timelines, onboarding completion, and early-term persistence.
Institutional Effectiveness, Analytics, and Reporting
- Provide executive oversight for institutional effectiveness, data analytics, reporting, and performance management functions.
- Support the development and use of dashboards, forecasting models, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic planning and institutional decision-making.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely submission of institutional reports, enrollment data, compliance documentation, and required regulatory reporting.
- Partner with academic and administrative leaders to implement data-informed improvement strategies.
- Foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement across the College.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
- Provide leadership and oversight for institutional compliance efforts related to federal, state, accreditation, and North Carolina Community College System requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations related to financial aid, student records, enrollment reporting, and institutional operations.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure institutional policies and procedures remain compliant and aligned with best practices.
Leadership and Team Development
- Provide executive oversight for Admissions and Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, the Registrar's Office, Academic Advising, Institutional Effectiveness, and College Compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams focused on student success, operational excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
- Promote collaboration across divisions and departments to strengthen institutional effectiveness and student outcomes.
- Support a culture that values innovation, service excellence, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in enrollment management, student services, institutional effectiveness, compliance, analytics, or a related field.
- Experience working in a community college setting.
- Demonstrated success improving enrollment, retention, completion, or student success outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing data analytics, forecasting, and performance metrics to support strategic decision-making and operational improvement.
- Strong knowledge of enrollment operations, financial aid regulations, student records, compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and build collaborative partnerships across the institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in higher education, leadership, public administration, or a related field.
- Familiarity with North Carolina Community College System reporting requirements, accountability measures, and compliance expectations.
- Demonstrated success implementing guided pathways, structured onboarding, student success, or workforce alignment initiatives.
- Experience developing executive dashboards, enrollment forecasting models, and institutional performance reporting.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment where recruitment and marketing functions are separate from enrollment operations.
