The Department of Experimental Pathology, Immunology and Microbiology at the Faculty of Medicine, American University of Beirut (AUB) is seeking an eligible academic virologist for a full-time position at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor levels.

Candidates should hold a PhD and/or MD degree, preferably with two to three years of post-doctoral research experience.

Moreover, candidates should have good knowledge of human basic and medical virology and have record of basic, translational, and/or clinical research activities, and excellence in teaching.

Applicants should submit electronically the following documents:

A curriculum vitae.
A letter of intent explaining why the applicant wishes to apply for the position and how their background and experience align with its requirements.
A personal statement outlining the applicant's previous accomplishments in research, teaching, and service, together with their future plans in these areas.
The names and contact information of four referees, preferably at the rank of Professor.

All requested application materials should be submitted to the Chairperson of the Department, Dr. Ghassan Matar, at gmatar@aub.edu.lb, with a copy to the FM Dean's Office at aub-fm@aub.edu.lb, no later than November 30, 2026.
