The Department of Psychology at the State University of New York at Oneonta invites applications for a PRODiG+ Fellowship beginning Fall 2026. The fellowship is for a 12-month appointment for two years. The fellowship is expected to transition into a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Clinical, Counseling, or Applied (clinical focus) Psychology after two years, provided the fellow achieves performance milestones during this period. This position reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Psychology.

The Department of Psychology at the State University of New York at Oneonta is a thriving department of ten full-time faculty members with diverse research interests that create an engaging learning environment characterized by accessible faculty, teamwork, student research opportunities, and technology-supported classrooms. The department is committed to providing a solid knowledge base in psychology, fostering scientific inquiry and critical thinking skills, promoting competence in written and oral communication, and supporting ethical and social responsibility in a diverse world. We value experience working with diverse populations, inclusive teaching pedagogies, and multicultural teaching experiences that support students' overall professional development.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Teach a reduce course load (two courses in fall and spring, totaling 12 credit hours for the academic year) in clinical psychology and develop courses in area of specialization.
• Have an active research program.
• Participate in student involvements such as advisement, research supervision, and mentoring.
• Participate in PRODiG+ programing on campus and SUNY-wide.
• Provide service to the department and university.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: To participate in PRODiG+, candidates are required to:

• Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
• Have a doctorate degree in Clinical, Counseling, or Applied (clinical focus) Psychology, or a closely related discipline. ABD considered; official confirmation of degree conferral by issuing institution by start of employment.
• Demonstrate personal, academic, and/or work experience engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or a commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the campus community. Such experience may include, but is not limited to, an academic/scholarly track record focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; work, volunteer/unpaid/community service; or related experience/expertise in serving underserved or vulnerable areas and/or populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience offering clinical, health, and social service-related courses.
• Can potentially contribute to our applied experiential learning opportunities is highly desired (e.g., community outreach, evidence-based interventions with non-profits, service-learning, etc.).
• Ability to teach courses in our core areas of our curriculum.
• Evidence of: teaching effectiveness, capability of initiating a suitable and productive research program, and scholarly productivity.
• Demonstrated experience involving undergraduate students in research.
• Experience advising and mentoring undergraduate students.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring, research, or service with diverse and/or multicultural populations.

Preference will be given to candidates who are:

• Current SUNY students, alumni, and/or Fellows.
• From a low-income background (e.g., Pell-eligible as undergraduates), were first-generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor's degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, or are veterans.
