Visiting Assistant Professor in Economics

Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics to begin August 1, 2026. This is a full-time, one-year position with a teaching load of five or six courses over two semesters. Candidates with a Ph.D. by August 2026 are strongly preferred but ABD will be considered. The position requires a specialization in macroeconomics, with an emphasis in financial economics or other applied macroeconomics field, and a willingness to teach undergraduate-level statistics or econometrics. Teaching responsibilities will be in the areas of intermediate macroeconomics, statistics, and electives in the candidate's area of specialty. The successful candidate should be willing to contribute to the general education curriculum.

With three graduate programs, students can build on their undergraduate degree with a Master of Arts in Higher Education Leadership, Master of Arts in Teaching, or a Master of Science in Management. Together, the experiences and mentorship at HWS prepare students to lead lives of consequence.
