Visiting Assistant Professor in Geometry
Position Overview
The University of Kansas seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in Geometry in the Department Mathematics to begin 8/18/2026. This is a non-tenure track, limited term, full-time appointment for three consecutive academic years (272 days). The faculty member will participate in the teaching mission of the Mathematics Department, which includes courses at the undergraduate and graduate level; conduct research in one of the designated areas leading to publication in appropriate media; and engage in department and professional service. Ph.D., ABD, or terminal degree is expected by the start date of appointment. The successful candidate for the position must be eligible to work in the U.S. prior to the start of the position.

50% RESEARCH: Develop and maintain an active research program...
40% TEACHING/ADVISING: Teach up to six credit hours...

Required Qualifications
- Ph.D., ABD in Mathematics expected by the start date of appointment (August 18, 2026)
- Research area in Algebraic Geometry/Kahler Differential Geometry and closely related fields
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching in mathematics as evidenced by teaching philosophy statement and/or reference letter on teaching
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in research as evidenced by graduate coursework, dissertation research, publications, and/or externally funded research grants.
