"Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication Studies"

Job Description

The Department of Communication Media at Thiel College invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication Studies beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. This one-year, visiting position offers opportunities to contribute to communication studies and interdisciplinary courses. We particularly value candidates who have experience teaching first-year students.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in Communication Studies or related field
• Teaching experience in communication studies, rhetoric, information literacy, and/or public speaking

Primary Responsibilities

• Teach 24 credits (four courses per semester) of undergraduate courses including a first-year course on information literacy, an upper-level class on intercultural communication, as well as courses on media and communication ethics.
