Job Description

The University of Missouri School of Music seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Voice to begin in August 2025. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position and will include teaching and service roles. Duties include teaching applied voice lessons, opera stage direction, and potentially teaching diction and/or literature classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will participate in voice area activities and provide service to the School and the University, in keeping with expectations for visiting assistant professors. Our committee is especially interested in applicants with a DMA or equivalent professional experience.This is a one-year position with the possibility of annual renewals.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: MM in Voice.

 

Candidates will be evaluated on:

Professional experience and accomplishment as a vocal performer and stage director.

Education and/or equivalent professional experience.

Evidence of successful teaching at the university level.

Experience teaching and advising graduate voice students.
