The Department of Psychology at Butler University (Indianapolis, IN) invites applications for a one-semester, non-tenure track visiting assistant professor position beginning January 2027. We seek a colleague who demonstrates active dedication to inclusive undergraduate teaching. This position requires full-time, in-person instruction. A Ph.D. in Psychology (or a closely related field) at the time of appointment is required. The successful applicant will be broadly trained in applied psychology and ready to teach in a multidisciplinary university core curriculum. Standard teaching load is 4 courses (12 credit hours) per semester. We seek a colleague who will be ready to teach required psychology courses such as Introductory Psychology, Research Methods & Statistics, as well as content courses in their area of expertise (e.g., developmental, industrial-organizational, health, clinical, cross-cultural, or sports psychology). The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to evidence-based and engaged-learning pedagogies and to building an inclusive classroom environment for an increasingly diverse student body.
