Job Description
The Department of Biological Sciences at Ohio University Biological Sciences Department | Ohio University invites applications for a Visiting Professor in the area of Molecular Evolutionary Biology with an 80% teaching and 20% research load. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate biology courses covering topics in genetics, evolution, and in the candidate's area of expertise. Teaching load will typically be three courses per semester. In addition, the candidate will be expected to maintain an active research program and contribute to the training and mentoring of both graduate and undergraduate researchers.
The Visiting Professor position is a full time, nine-month position for the academic year 2026-2027 (from August 16, 2026, to May 15, 2027).

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have PhD degree in biological sciences or related field with postdoctoral or related experience. The applicant must also have experience teaching undergraduate courses.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will demonstrate evidence of experience in advising and mentoring students, pedagogical innovations, and teaching large enrollment evolution-based courses. In addition, they will have experience mentoring students in their research laboratory and evidence of success in grant funding.
