Visiting Professor, OHIO Career Ready Campus (Aspire)
Job Description
The Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education at Ohio University invites applicants for one Visiting Professor Position (part-time, term) for the OHIO Career Ready Campus (Aspire) program.
We are currently recruiting to fill one 30-hour per week grant-funded instructor position. The OHIO CRC Instructor position is with the OHIO Career Ready Campus located in the Patton College of Education's Stevens Center for Literacy and STEM education.
The instructor will work exclusively in corrections education at the Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility, Columbus, OH.
The successful candidate will demonstrate capacity to instruct adult learners in classes including:
- Adult basic education
- High school equivalency (GED®) preparation
- Workforce literacy and readiness education
- Transition to postsecondary education.
Curriculum is based on Ohio Department of Higher Education college and career readiness standards for adult education. The expected teaching schedule will require onsite adult education instruction at the Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility in Columbus, OH. Hours are dependent on program schedules, including office hours for administrative instructor tasks.
Candidates should be highly organized, student-centered, flexible, adaptable, and independent thinkers. Candidates must be able to implement differentiated in person learning experiences based on program vision, student profile, and individual career readiness pathways of the adult learner. Successful candidates will need to pass a background check and drug testing.
Minimum Qualifications
All OHIO Career Ready Campus Instructors need a minimum of a Bachelor's degree to instruct adult learners.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience preferred. Experience teaching adult learners or non-traditional students preferred. Experience teaching in a correctional facility preferred.

This position is supported by external funding. Continued employment is contingent upon continued funding from the grant provider.
