Visiting Scholar - HCS
The College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences is seeking a Visiting Scholar to provide technical support for all activities associated with the barley breeding and genetics program. This role supports laboratory, greenhouse, and field operations, particularly during peak planting and harvesting seasons.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for barley breeding and genetics research activities
- Assist with laboratory experiments, data collection, and sample processing
- Support greenhouse operations, including plant care and maintenance
- Participate in fieldwork activities such as planting, irrigation, phenotyping, and harvesting
- Maintain accurate records of research data and experimental results
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and research materials
- Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and students on program initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in plant science, Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Science, Biology, Genetics, or a related field
- Experience or interest in agricultural research, plant breeding, or fieldwork
- Ability to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions during peak seasons
- Strong organizational and communication skills
