W 2-Professorship in prehistoric and protohistoric archaeology with a focus on historical and global historical archaeology
to start at the earliest possible date.
The future job holder shall be responsible for the fields of prehistoric and protohistoric archaeology – with a focus on historical and global historical archaeology – both research and teaching.

The future job holder will integrate findings from archaeology, history, the natural and life sciences, as well as theory, and analyze the development of past societies using both quantitative and qualitative methods. These tasks are to be handled in the framework of interdisciplinary collaboration at the Institute of Prehistoric and Protohistoric Archaeology, the Cluster of Excellence ROOTS, the ARCWorlds Research Building, and within the priority research area Societal, Environmental and Cultural Change (SECC) of Kiel University.
