W2-Professorship (with tenure) in Inorganic Chemistry

The University of Bonn is an international research university with a wide education and research profile. With a 200-year history, approximately 31,500 students, more than 6,000 staff, and an excellent reputation at home and abroad, the University of Bonn is one of the most important universities in Germany and is recognized as a University of Excellence.

The Institute of Inorganic Chemistry in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Bonn invites applications for a

W2 Professorship (with tenure) in Inorganic Chemistry

to be filled as soon as possible.

Successful candidates are expected to be internationally renowned in experimental inorganic chemistry that complements and strengthens the areas represented by the existing research groups within the Institute and the Department of Chemistry. An excellent research track record relative to the candidate’s career stage is expected. The candidate is expected to actively participate in the acquisition of third-party funding and to contribute to the development of collaborative research programs.

Teaching is an integral part of the professorial position and teaching in all stages of the study program in German and English language is required. Non-German speakers would be expected to teach in German within a reasonable timeframe. A high-quality teaching concept is therefore expected. Cooperation in academic administration is also expected.

Applications from suitable individuals with a certified serious disability and those of equal status are particularly welcome.

Please apply with the usual documents (cover letter, CV, copies of diplomas, list of publications including five selected reprints, list of invited talks, list of courses taught, teaching concept, teaching evaluations if available, concise descriptions of current and prospective research projects, and list of third-party funding) by 20.10.2025 via the online portal: https://berufungsportal.uni-bonn.de.
