Waste, Streets & Recycling Assistant Manager
Job Summary
The Waste, Streets & Recycling ("WSR") Assistant Manager assists in developing and implementing procedures for disposing of waste, hazardous waste, hazardous recycling, recycling, and contaminated materials per governmental regulations and University goals. The WSR Assistant Manager assists in developing systems to track, purchase, and care for all waste, streets, and recycling duties and infrastructure, including parking lots, snow and ice control, street sweeping, and recycling collection.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- As essential personnel: you are expected to be available in the event of school closings, delays, shutdowns, and any emergencies, including clean-up required because of severe weather incidents.
- Reports to work at the required time and performs duties as assigned by the WSR manager.
- Responsible for wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment while operating Grounds related equipment.
- Responsible for assistance in planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of all WSR maintenance and operations activities.
- Works proactively with the WSR Manager to develop and implement long-range plans.
- Assistant Manager is responsible for tracking and accounting for everyday operations and routines of waste removal programs.
- Works to ensure that every location on the Liberty campus receives proper waste removal services on their designated days.
- Responsible for equipment maintenance, cleaning, coordination reporting, scheduling, or repairs.
- Upkeeps all accountability systems for labor and equipment, including databases, spreadsheets, and paperwork.
- Responsible for assisting in the coordination of any WSR-related subcontractors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
