Position Summary

THIS CONTINUOUS POSTING IS RECRUITING FOR SUMMER PAINTERS ONLY. The Building Services Housing Support Paint Shop is currently recruiting for Summer Painters. This temporary position will last from mid-May through the beginning of August. Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (must be available to work entire shift).

This position is responsible for the painting and trim work of residence halls and student apartments on campus during the summer.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

• Ability to receive clear instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Ability to quickly learn new tools, processes, or adapt to changing tasks, as summer roles can be unpredictable.
• Safety conscious and have an understanding of safety standards.
• Have a strong work ethic with dependable attendance.
• Ability to demonstrate great teamwork with co-workers and Housing staff.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements

Must be able to climb and work from a ladder. Must be able to move objects weighing up to 50lbs with or without accommodation. Employees are required to adhere to safety requirements by wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment. Work may require strenuous physical exertion.
