Web Content Migration Specialist (Temporary)

Oversee web auditing tools to establish content migration recommendations and action plans, in partnership with the Content Strategist.

Identify outdated, redundant or confusing content and prioritize recommendations for rewrite, removal, or reorganization.

Identify how to organize content for external University audiences (prospective students, parents, alumni, donors, partners, etc.) and internal University audiences (faculty, staff, current students).

Analyze data in tools such as GA4, GSC, CrazyEgg, SEM Rush, etc. (traffic, bounce rates, conversions) to justify content decisions.

Create detailed and organized project and content migration spreadsheets, pivot tables, etc. to track all content migration work. 

Build timelines, track deliverables and give progress reports for content migration at regular intervals.

Leverage project management tools, such as Asana, to track the website content overhaul progress.

Work closely with the UMC web team to implement web content changes and migration needs and submit project requests as needed.

Liaise with the agency of record to follow website redesign requirements and recommendations and attend ongoing meetings.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Experience managing, auditing, or migrating large-scale website content portfolios (10,000+ pages).
• Strong project management, planning, and tracking skills, including experience with project management tools such as Asana.
• Working knowledge of marketing, communications, public relations, branding, and related disciplines.
• Working knowledge of protocols and institutional etiquette related to public and media relations.
• Expert knowledge of content audit tools, web analytics, SEO, AEO, and content optimization.
• Comprehensive knowledge of web content strategy and governance.
• Working knowledge of web accessibility guidelines and best practices.
• Knowledge of content management systems, such as Drupal, WordPress, or Omni CMS.
• Working knowledge of copyright and other applicable laws pertaining to publications and media.
• Skilled in developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies and campaigns.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, with a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to use data and analytics to inform strategic content recommendations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet accelerated timelines.
• Excellent customer service, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with UMC colleagues, University staff, faculty, and students.

Required Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.  
• Two (2) years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Information Systems, Digital Media, Web Management, or related field.     
• 4+ years of web content management/migration experience
• Demonstrated experience auditing or migrating large-scale websites
• Experience with analytics, content audit tools, CMS platforms, project management systems, SEO/AEO, and accessibility

Compensation

Classification: Marketing Communications Professional II
Anticipated Hiring Range: $6,067/month - $6,969/month (Step 9 – Step 16)
CSU Salary Range: $5,178/month - $7,543/month (Step 1 – Step 20)
