Basic Function/Definition

This is a recruitment to fill a part-time position. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department or division be interested in scheduling an interview.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND two years of professional experience,
OR
Associate degree AND six years of professional experience.
OR
A valid California Community College Credential authorizing service in the appropriate subject matter
AND
Demonstrate a sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students

Equivalencies

The equivalency is:
1) A High School Diploma, PLUS college course work equivalent to an Associates degree in the discipline of the assignment, PLUS eight years of occupational experience related to the discipline of the assignment at or above the journeyman level or equivalent – technical recognition in the discipline of the assignment, PLUS appropriate certification to practice or licensure or its equivalent, if available;
OR
2) A High School Diploma, PLUS eight years of occupational related to the discipline of the assignment at or above the journeyman level or equivalent – technical recognition in the discipline of the assignment, PLUS appropriate certification to practice or licensure or its equivalent, if available;
OR
3) Recognized accomplishments which demonstrate expertise and skill in the field of study beyond that normally achieved through formal education.

Responsibilities

Assignment may include teaching courses as assigned during day or evening hours, weekday or weekends or online.
Have a commitment to professional excellence and continuous growth in the fields of teaching.
Other professional responsibilities and activities normally expected of members of community college faculty as described by Board Policies and the California Education code.
