Women’s and Reproductive Mental Health (WARM) Psychiatric Fellow
Clinical Instructor of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC)

July 1st, 2025-June 30th, 2026

Position Description:

The Women’s and Reproductive Mental Health (WARM) program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a psychiatrist with interest in the assessment and treatment of psychiatric conditions in individuals across the female reproductive life cycle. The Women’s and Reproductive Mental Health (WARM) Fellowship is a one year funded non-ACGME accredited clinical specialty training program for psychiatrists. Participants in the fellowship will gain expertise in treating conditions related to menstrual cycle, pregnancy, parenting, child loss, fertility difficulties, and menopause. Our program is dedicated to providing equitable care and promoting training in diverse settings. Fellows will therefore have the opportunity to rotate on various clinical sites including a community clinic, faculty practice, and on a hospital consult service. Fellows will work with individuals with a wide range of demographic and diagnostic categories and participate in multidisciplinary teams. The position will also provide opportunity and mentorship for scholarly pursuits.

Fellows will be expected to engage in the following clinical and scholarly activities:

  1. The psychiatrist will conduct evaluations at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center
  2. The psychiatrist will provide psychopharmacologic management to individuals at different phases of the life cycle, including pregnancy and lactation.
  3. The psychiatrist will work closely with a treatment team, including other psychologists and social workers to provide comprehensive psychological care to high-need psychiatrically ill women.
  4. The psychiatrist will engage in a scholarly project under the mentorship of the Women’s and Reproductive Mental Health Program faculty.
  5. The psychiatrist will attend didactic lectures by faculty on topics in Women’s and Reproductive Mental Health
  6. The psychiatrist will participate in clinical rounds and teaching of students, interns, and residents.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

  • Completion of a US Accredited Psychiatric Residency Training Program by program start date
  • New York State License by program state date
  • Either Board certified or board eligible

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest and experience in the field of Women’s and Reproductive Mental Health.
  • Demonstrated interest in academic as well as clinical psychiatry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
