Primary Responsibilities:
Position Summary The Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) is seeking a dependable and motivated Student Assistant to support the daily operations of the department. This position assists the Department Chair, ACE faculty, and staff by providing administrative, operational, and event support while helping maintain a welcoming and organized environment for students and visitors. The hours will primarily be during evenings and weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and maintain the ACE Student Lounge to ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
- Monitor student sign-in/sign-out procedures.
- Perform light cleaning and general upkeep of the student lounge and departmental areas.
- Assist with departmental administrative tasks, including:
- Checking and distributing mail.
- Delivering department mail to the SR Post Office.
- Maintaining departmental bulletin boards and displays.
- Support departmental programs, activities, and special events, including but not limited to Homecoming, Trunk-or-Treat, and other campus/community events.
- Provide general assistance to the Department Chair, ACE faculty, and staff as needed.
- Utilize computer applications and office technology effectively to complete assigned tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned that support the mission and operations of the department.

The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years. A paper copy of the report will be provided upon request.
