Why Your Role Matters


The Client Engagement Consultant role is critical to the business development and growth of UNSW Short Courses. The core of the role revolves around proactively generating leads and sales to execute the Short Courses sales strategy. The UNSW Short Courses Portfolio is a new suite of courses catering to the needs of individuals, teams, and organisations, working with UNSW faculties to upskill clients across many industries.


As part of a small and highly collaborative team, this role is responsible for the sales of a range of Short Courses in both a B2B and B2C setting. The Client Engagement Consultant has ownership of the client acquisition journey and ensuring UNSW Short Courses are part of the buyer consideration set by responding to enquiries, nurturing relationships with key clients, maximizing repeat business and securing new business to drive increased enrolment and revenue targets.


This role also has responsibility to maintain an extremely high level of customer service and works closely with the logistics delivery team to ensure the participants experience is seamless from enquiry to enrolment to participation.

Accountabilities

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients seeking to purchase a short course from UNSW.
  • Proactively build a pipeline of prospective clients that aligns to the buyer persona of each of the short course programs being launched in market.
  • Identify and develop relationships with internal UNSW staff to assist in developing short courses and to grow their programs with UNSW.
  • Re-engage course participants to understand their experience, build opportunities for repeat business and understand the buyer process to support future growth.
  • Continually review and refresh the Short Course acquisition journey with the Head of Program Sales and UNSW Lifelong Learning Product Marketing Lead, to ensure short courses marketing and sales initiatives are reaching the right market segments.
  • Achieve agreed team sales targets, and individual and team KPI’s within agreed timeframes.
  • Support and implement sales and marketing initiatives, including identifying target markets and profiles, with a focus on lead generation, and leveraging LinkedIn to connect with prospective clients, share course content and increase brand awareness,
  • Maintain accurate CRM and data integrity to report on customer needs, and competitor activities, support decision making and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Support with the delivery and go to market administration of short courses (e.g., web content updates, EDM invite creation, webinar support, leading relationship with learning management provider).
  • Align with and actively demonstrate the UNSW Values in Action: Our Behaviours and the UNSW Code of Conduct.
  • Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the psychosocial or physical health and safety of yourself or others.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation
  • Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office and Client Relationship Management systems.
  • Advanced organisational and time management skills, accuracy, and attention to detail with proven ability to manage a high volume of tasks effectively.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives, and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
