YSLPP Summer Program Classroom Teacher - Middle School English

Position Summary:

Conduct four sessions of 7th or 8th grade ELA class

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver classroom lessons in line with common core learning standards and grade-level curriculum
• Supervise morning homeroom and afternoon activity period
• Assist with lunch room supervision in college cafeteria
• May perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• New York State Teacher Certification required
• Teaching experience in Utica City School District preferred

Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent classroom management skills
• Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds

Supervisory Responsibility:

Teacher Assistant
