Position Summary:
The Director of Undergraduate Recruitment and Admission provides strategic leadership for all undergraduate recruitment, outreach, admissions counseling, territory management, and yield initiatives. The Director develops and executes comprehensive recruitment and admission strategies designed to achieve institutional enrollment goals while ensuring a student-centered enrollment experience from inquiry through matriculation.
As a member of the Enrollment Management leadership team, the Director collaborates with colleagues across Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Marketing, and other institutional units to support undergraduate enrollment growth, student success, and institutional strategic priorities.
Recruitment Strategy and Leadership
- Develop and implement comprehensive undergraduate recruitment strategies.
- Establish annual recruitment and enrollment goals in partnership with the Vice President of Enrollment Management.
- Monitor enrollment funnel performance and recommend strategic adjustments.
- Evaluate market conditions, demographic trends, and competitive positioning.
- Lead efforts to improve inquiry generation, application growth, and enrollment yield.
Admissions Management
- Oversee undergraduate admissions operations and application review processes.
- Ensure fair, consistent, and student-centered admissions practices.
- Recommend admissions policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.
Recruitment Operations
- Direct territory management and recruitment travel strategies.
- Oversee campus visit programs, open houses, and yield events. Adapt visit programs for effectiveness based on data, participant feedback, and enrollment outcomes.
- Develop partnerships with high schools, community colleges, counselors, and community organizations.
- Represent the institution at recruitment programs and professional conferences.
Staff Leadership and Development
- Supervise admissions counselors and recruitment staff.
- Establish performance expectations and accountability measures.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and student service.
- Support staff professional development.
Collaboration and Strategic Planning
- Partner with Enrollment Communications, Enrollment Strategy and Operations, Enrollment Technology, Graduate Admission, and Financial Aid staff.
- Participate in institutional enrollment planning efforts.
- Contribute to strategic enrollment management initiatives.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressively responsible admissions or enrollment management experience.
Skills/Abilities:
- Experience utilizing CRM systems and enrollment analytics.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
- Experience leading undergraduate recruitment teams, preferred.
- Experience with Slate or comparable CRM platforms, preferred.
- Knowledge of strategic enrollment management principles, preferred.
