Adelaida Quesada is an associate professor senior of mathematics at Miami Dade College, serving in the Mathematics Department at the Kendall Campus. She has been a dedicated educator at the institution for more than 30 years, bringing mathematics to life for countless students through her vibrant and engaging classes. These classes have consistently achieved excellent retention rates, reflecting her effective teaching strategies. Quesada masterfully combines her innate talent and passion for mathematics with innovative technology to empower students and facilitate their success in the subject.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to teaching excellence, Adelaida Quesada received the Dr. Germán Muñoz Endowed Teaching Chair award. This honor acknowledges her pioneering use of interactive technology in mathematics instruction. She writes all her notes on a tablet PC, utilizes specialized software tailored for mathematical demonstrations, and publishes instructional videos online showcasing step-by-step solutions to challenging examples. As Quesada explains, 'Technology gives them the confidence because they can do it again 20 times.' She continues to teach essential courses such as College Algebra, offered both online and on the Kendall Campus.
