Dr. Amanpreet Kaur is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Accounting and Finance within the College of Business and Law at Adelaide University, where she has been appointed since January 2026. She obtained her Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting from the University of South Australia School of Commerce, completing her studies from 2010 to 2014. Previously, Kaur held the position of Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the University of South Australia from April 2017 to December 2025. Her earlier professional experience includes teaching positions at the University of Adelaide, IIBIT-Adelaide (Federation University Australia), and S.G.H.R.S. College for Women, Panjab University, India. As an accomplished accounting educator, she teaches a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in both on-campus and online delivery modes. Kaur is eligible to supervise Master's and PhD candidates, contributing to the development of future researchers in accounting.
Kaur's primary research specializations encompass sustainability accounting and reporting, stakeholder engagement, and integrated reporting. Her investigations particularly address these themes in the contexts of the public sector, Australian listed companies, mining firms, and local councils. Prominent publications include "Everything, everywhere, all at once: the role of accounting and reporting in achieving sustainable development goals" (Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting & Financial Management, 2025), "Being left behind: disclosure strategies to manage the Juukan Gorge cave blast" (Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, 2025), "The disclosure of sustainable development goals (SDGs) by the top 50 Australian companies: substantive or symbolic legitimation?" (Meditari Accountancy Research, 2023), "Stakeholder accountability in the era of big data: an exploratory study of online platform companies" (Qualitative Research in Accounting & Management, 2023), "The state of disclosures on Aboriginal engagement: an examination of Australian mining companies" (Meditari Accountancy Research, 2020), "Stakeholder engagement in sustainability accounting and reporting: A study of Australian local councils" (Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, 2018), and "The state of disclosures on stakeholder engagement in sustainability reporting in Australian local councils" (Pacific Accounting Review, 2014). Additional contributions feature book chapters such as "Integrated reporting in the public sector" (2020) and "Managing eco-efficiency development: an investigation of top carbon polluters in Australia" (2018). Her research output has accumulated over 1,100 citations on Google Scholar, demonstrating substantial influence in sustainability accounting scholarship.
