Dr. Bianca Price serves as a Lecturer and Course Coordinator in Education Futures at Adelaide University, within AU Pathways and Participation, UniSA College. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy, a Bachelor’s degree in Leisure Management with first-class Honours, and a Graduate Certificate in Research Commercialisation. With over 15 years of experience in Australian higher education, Dr. Price manages, designs, and implements courses to enhance students’ employability and transferable skills, including communication skills development both individually and in teams. She guides students in professional settings and champions virtual work-integrated learning experiences to create inclusive connections between education and work for diverse and non-traditional backgrounds. Dr. Price co-coordinates the UniSA College Alumni Mentor Program, providing professional development initiatives. She is a member of the Australian Collaborative Education Network (ACEN), National Association of Field Administrators, National Association of Enabling Educators (NAEEA), and Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia (HERDSA). Previously, she was an Associate Lecturer in the School of Business at the University of Queensland from 2008 to 2009.
Dr. Price’s research specializations include consumer behaviour, physical attractiveness, match-up hypothesis, source credibility in the service encounter, intragender competition, serious leisure, spillover hypothesis, work/life balance, social physique anxiety, body image, and constraints to physical activity participation. Grounded in Leisure Management, her prior research explored barriers and constraints to physical activity with a focus on body image and social physique anxiety. As Senior Researcher for CERM-PI, she investigated visitor perceptions in botanic gardens and national parks. Her current research addresses consumer behavior, source credibility and physical attractiveness, and the impact of virtual work placements in enabling education and improving student experience.
