Rate My Professor Bill Davis

During his tenure as Dean of Faculty, Dr. Davis played a pivotal role in securing a $5 million Hispanic-Serving Institutions Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (HSI-STEM) grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Fiscal Year 2021 program. This award funds Project HOPE, which supports the development of new STEM-based undergraduate programs in engineering (with civil and mechanical tracks), computer science, and agricultural sciences. The initiative also creates the Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences, aiming to boost first-year retention, six-year graduation rates, and enrollment of Hispanic students, who comprise over 38% of incoming freshmen. Dr. Davis highlighted the grant as the result of extensive team collaboration, poised to offer transformative opportunities in engineering, computer science, agriculture, and natural resource management for Schreiner students and the surrounding community. His leadership extends to faculty recognition, including presenting awards and contributing to scholarship programs. As Professor of Chemistry, Dr. Davis supports the natural sciences curriculum at Schreiner University.
