Dr Bopelo Boitshwarelo serves as Lecturer in Academic Development at Adelaide University. A Senior Fellow of Advance Higher Education (formerly the UK Higher Education Academy), he possesses over 23 years of experience in the university sector across Australia and overseas. His career has centered on educational and academic development roles, with a particular emphasis on online and distance learning. Boitshwarelo has participated in cross-institutional efforts, including the South Australia and Northern Territory Peer Excellence Network (SANTPEN), which fosters capacity building in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). Since 2018, he has acted as an assessor for the Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT).
Boitshwarelo's research expertise lies in online and blended learning, learning design, and academic development. He is eligible to co-supervise Masters and PhD students. His scholarly contributions include peer review for journals such as Studies in Higher Education, International Review of Research in Open and Distance Learning (IRRODL), and International Journal for Academic Development.
