Ms Caroline Man, Lecturer in the School of Communication, Media and Journalism in the College of Creative Arts, Design and Humanities at Adelaide University, is an experienced freelance producer, filmmaker, and educator. She has produced broadcast television for Channel 9, SBS Australia, ABC, and National Indigenous Television. Man has worked on numerous Australian independent films, as well as conferences and screen organizations including the Australian International Documentary Conference and Mercury CX. Her productions have won many awards at film festivals and received special screenings, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Previously, she served as company director of a successful business, worked internally for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and held roles across producing and directing departments in the Australian film and television sector. Recently, Man has produced screen stories as educational tools for the university and is engaged in teaching the next generation of visual storytellers.
Man teaches a variety of undergraduate courses at Adelaide University, including COMM 2081 Documentary Film, COMM 3063 Internship or Project, EDUC 2074 Literature and Digital Media, INFT 1014 Introduction to Digital Media, COMM 1078 Introduction to Screen Sound, COMM 1084 Cinematography and Editing, COMM 2084 Narrative Film, and INFT 1015 Hollywood Film and Television in 2024 and 2025. She served as Supervising Producer for The Film Maker Studio, a collaborative educational project between Adelaide University and Channel 44, recognized for innovation in television education. Man co-authored the 2026 publication 'AI Art generators and the process of transmediation' with Jill Colton. Her industry experience bridges professional screen production with academic instruction, enhancing practical training for students in film, television, and digital media.
