Charla Fraley is a Professor and Business Management Program Coordinator in the Business & Economics faculty at Columbus State Community College. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Business Administration from Boston College. With 26 years of service as of 2024, Fraley has made significant contributions to business education as a lead instructor for courses such as Management & Organizational Behavior (BMGT 2200), Project Management Principles (BMGT 2250), Project Management Techniques (BMGT 2251), Operations Management (BMGT 2258), Cases in Strategic Management (BMGT 2299), and Project Management Capstone (BMGT 2599). Her teaching approach focuses on building classroom community and transforming engagement into lifelong learning. As she states, “Setting the table is as important as the food.” Fraley incorporates varied activities, videos, team-based collaborative learning, and field trips to connect classroom concepts with real-world applications. Multiple observers have noted her outstanding presentation style, which actively pulls students into conversations about content through engaging activities.
Fraley received the Distinguished Teacher Award in 2018 as Associate Professor of Business Management and the Distinguished Full Professor Award in 2024. She serves as Co-Chair of the Technology & Learning committee on the Academic Council and as a member of the Digital Learning committee, representing BET Business Programs. Fraley has presented at professional conferences, including a roundtable on the International Business and Technology Program at the Community Colleges for International Development 2020 conference in Saint Petersburg, Florida, where she discussed collaborations with Berufliches Schulzentrum fur Elektrotechnik Dresden involving student and faculty travel to Germany. She co-presented "Power of One Partnership" with Duane Donaldson at the ACBSP regional conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on October 9-10, 2025. Additionally, she participated in the Nationwide Apprenticeship Program starting in fall 2020 and faculty tours such as to Hikma Pharmaceuticals. Her interests include international travel, science & innovation, ice hockey, and college football.
