Ms Ebony Proud is a Lecturer of Interior Architecture in the School of Architecture and Built Environment, College of Creative Arts, Design and Humanities at Adelaide University. Her teaching approach is closely informed by design practice, focusing on tactile learning experiences to develop effective design decision-making skills for studio pedagogy and professional practice. She is motivated by sustainability in material selection, detailing, and construction processes, student engagement through studio culture, and multidisciplinary collaboration in design education, practice, and industry. Recent scholarship explores balancing algorithm-driven digital platforms with tactile, industry-informed experiences to resolve tensions between ideation and imitation, promoting creativity and authentic learning in design education.
Proud's career includes interior design and delivery of commercial, lifestyle, and residential projects, people and culture advisory in a global architecture practice, and teaching interior architecture from foundation to advanced levels. She serves as a course developer and peer reviewer for Adelaide University 2026 offerings.
