Professor Fahad Saqib Lodhi serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Public Health and Behavioural Sciences at Dubai Medical College for Girls. A distinguished epidemiologist with over 20 years of experience in clinical and community health, he holds an MBBS from Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad, Pakistan (2004), an MPH from the Institute of Public Health, University of Health Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan (2009), a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Iran (2018), and a CHPE from Khyber Medical University, Pakistan (2025). His career includes previous roles as Professor at Women Medical and Dental College, Abbottabad, Pakistan (2020–2023), Public Health Specialist at Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health (2016–2020) where he supervised postgraduate training and community interventions, Coordinator of the MPH Programme at Sarhad University (2009–2016), Regional Coordinator for TB Control in Pakistan (2011–2012), and Senior Public Health Officer at the International Rescue Committee (2009–2010). He has also contributed to WHO polio evaluations and post-earthquake health surveys (2003–2006).
Lodhi’s research focuses on the epidemiology of non-communicable diseases including cardiovascular risk factors, diabetes, and obesity in low-resource settings; psychometric validation of health-related quality of life instruments such as WHOQOL-BREF and mental health scales; impacts of psychosocial stressors like COVID-19 and poverty on psychological well-being and family dynamics; health behavior change interventions using models like the Health Belief Model for marginalized groups; and social determinants of health encompassing gender equity, food insecurity, and cultural adaptations. A prolific researcher, he has authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications. Key works include "Assessing the quality of life among Pakistani general population and their associated factors by using the World Health Organization’s quality of life instrument (WHOQOL-BREF)" (2019), "Impact of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Pandemic on Psychological Well-Being of the Pakistani General Population" (2020), "Factors associated with quality of life among joint and nuclear families: a population-based study" (2021), "Assessment of knowledge and foot self-care practices among diabetic mellitus patients in a tertiary care Centre in Makkah" (2021), and "Impact of high-protein, low-calorie diet on anthropometric indices" (2025).
