Grace Emanuele is a Lecturer in the School of Education within the College of Education, Behavioural and Social Sciences at Adelaide University. She teaches a range of courses essential for pre-service educators, including Humanities and Social Sciences Education (EDUC 2056 and EDUCX-313), Inclusive Education (EDUC 3055), Curriculum and Pedagogy 1 (HASS and Technologies) (EDUC 5251), Curriculum and Pedagogy 4 (HASS and Health and PE) (EDUC 5254 and EDUC-6051), Reflexive Practice and Professional Experience 1 (EDUC 5271), Professional Experience 2: Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment (EDUC-2901), Professional Identity and the Role of the Teacher (EDUC-1902), and Foundations in Learning and Teaching 2: Creating Positive Learning Environments (EDUC 2078). Prior to her current role, Grace Emanuele was a university tutor and academic lecturer at the University of South Australia, where she contributed to education programs. She also brings extensive practical experience as a primary school teacher with over 20 years in the field, informing her approach to teacher education.
Grace Emanuele's scholarly work includes contributions to key publications in education pedagogy. In 2023, she co-authored 'Response: Historical empathy: ethical and culturally responsive history teaching' with D. Green and D. Price in Public History Weekly. Her book chapters include 'Citizenship education: a relational approach' with A. Peterson in 2024, published in Teaching to Transform Learning: Pedagogies for Inclusive, Responsive and Socially Just Education (Cambridge University Press, pp. 258-271). Additionally, in 2019, she co-authored 'Civics and citizenship in the 21st century' with A.
