Dr. Guodong Yuan is a Senior Lecturer in Finance and Financial Planning in the School of Accounting and Finance, College of Business and Law, at Adelaide University. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of South Australia between 2010 and 2014. Additional qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Education Studies (Digital Learning) from the University of South Australia in 2020, Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from Kaplan in 2018–2019, Diploma of Financial Planning from Mentor Education in 2018, Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law & Practice from the Australian National University in 2015, and Certified Practising Accountant designation from CPA Australia in 2019. His career trajectory encompasses his current role at Adelaide University since 2026, Senior Lecturer at the University of South Australia from 2024 to 2025, and Lecturer there from 2014 to 2023. Since 2020, he has acted as a Course Facilitator for Adelaide University Online and holds the position of Associate Director of the Policy & Regulation stream at the Centre for Markets, Values and Inclusion.
Dr. Yuan's research specializations cover finance, accounting, taxation policy, digital education, gender equity, market valuation, corporate governance, ownership structures, capital markets, and financial market regulation. His recent work emphasizes artificial intelligence, ESG including AI-enabled ESG analytics, corporate political engagement, green finance, and tax aggressiveness in transitional economies such as China. Dr. Yuan teaches courses including Personal Finance, Risk Management and Insurance, Estate Planning, and Managing Personal Risk, and supervises Masters and PhD students.
