Jay Warnett is an Associate Professor and Reader at the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of Warwick, within the Engineering discipline. He completed his PhD at the University of Warwick in 2014, with a thesis titled 'Stationary and rotational axisymmetric granular column collapse'. Warnett joined WMG as an Assistant Professor in August 2016, advancing to his current role. His career includes significant contributions to X-ray Computed Tomography (XCT) research and metrology.
Warnett's research specializations centre on developing faster XCT scanning procedures via innovative acquisition methods and data minimization, alongside error quantification for metrology. His interests encompass dimensional XCT, non-destructive testing, granular flows, and applications in manufacturing, battery analysis, forensics, archaeology, and food science. He co-authored the EPSRC Tomography Roadmap, shaping policy for high-throughput CT and strategic equipment funding.
