Dr. K. Gunaseelan serves as Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, a position he has held since 2021. Prior to this, he was Associate Professor from 2018 to 2021 and Assistant Professor from 2010 to 2018 in the same department. Earlier in his career, he worked as Lecturer at PSG College of Technology from 2005 to 2010. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2010 from the College of Engineering Guindy Campus, Anna University, Chennai.
His research focuses on wireless communication systems, digital signal processing, and network security. Dr. Gunaseelan has contributed to the field through 32 publications spanning 2008 to 2025, including "A novel efficient resource allocation algorithm for multiuser OFDM systems" co-authored with R. Venkateswari and A. Kandaswamy, published in IETE Technical Review (2008). His work has garnered 212 citations as per Google Scholar. He has successfully supervised multiple Ph.D. theses, such as "Certain Investigations on Grading of Diabetic Retinopathy in Digital Fundus Images" by Tamil Nidhi M (2021), "Certain Investigations on Physical Layer Security and Privacy Preserving Location Authentication Techniques for Secure Wireless Communications" by Lavanya D. L. (2021), "Enhanced Network Assisted-Media Aware Protocols (ENA-MAP) for Scalable Video Multicasting" by Arun Kumar A. (2020), and "Certain Investigations on Steganography and Watermarking Techniques for Confidentiality and Authentication" by Nandhini S. (2019). In recognition of his contributions, he received the Medicall Healthcare Made in India Innovation Awards in 2021, specifically the Silver Award for Digital Innovation in Healthcare. Additionally, he is a Life Member of the Computer Society of India since 2012 and the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers since 2008. Dr. Gunaseelan also holds the position of Director at the Centre for Affiliation of Institutions, Anna University.
