Kasey Bozeman serves as the Extension 4-H Specialist for Science Programs at the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension, within the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Holding a B.S. in Environmental Science from Piedmont College and an M.S. in Environmental Education from Nova Southeastern University, she is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Curriculum Studies from Georgia Southern University. Her career in youth development and science education began as a Seasonal Environmental Education Instructor at Wahsega 4-H Center, followed by roles as Child & Youth Specialist for the Air Force Reserve Command, and Extension Coordinator in Long and Liberty Counties from 2011 to 2019, where she led 4-H programs emphasizing leadership, citizenship, and competitions, achieving state honors for her youth participants.
In her current role since 2019, Bozeman develops, implements, and evaluates state-level 4-H science initiatives, including Mission Make-It: The Georgia 4-H Engineering Challenge, the 4-H Ag Tech Project, and Wildlife Judging. She coordinates five Georgia 4-H Ambassador tracks—Bats, Innovative Agriculture, Pollinators, Science & Engineering, and Wildlife—and co-leads the Natural Resources Exploration Camp with the UGA Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. Previously, she served as Lead State Advisor for National 4-H Council’s Tech Changemakers program. Bozeman holds leadership positions such as President of the National Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals, Past President of the Georgia Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals, and serves on various advisory boards including the Mary Kahrs Warnell Forest Education Center Advisory Board and Project WILD Advisory Team. Her contributions to environmental education earned her the Outstanding Facilitator of the Year awards from both Project WILD and Project Learning Tree, as well as the 2016 Ryles Rising Star recipient. Through her work, she empowers Georgia youth with critical thinking skills in STEM and environmental sciences, training county faculty and fostering partnerships to enhance educational outreach.
