Dr. Kezia Perry currently holds the position of Lecturer in Academic Development (AU Course Development) within the Academic Teaching and Learning Innovation Curriculum unit at Adelaide University. Previously associated with the Teaching Innovation Unit at the University of South Australia (UniSA), her role involves the development of innovative curricula and contributions to broader academic development efforts as part of the merger forming Adelaide University. Kezia Perry completed her PhD in English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Adelaide, with her 2018 thesis entitled "Shadow of The Archers and Crossing Over: Writing Young Adult Fiction and Finding the Contemporary Reader." This work combines a creative novel with an exegesis exploring the challenges and opportunities in writing crossover young adult verse novels and identifying the contemporary reader. She began her association with the University of Adelaide in 2011, joining as a postgraduate in the Discipline of English and Creative Writing in the School of Humanities. From 2012 onward, she has been engaged in academia, participating in a range of teaching and research activities that have built her expertise in higher education pedagogy.
Building on her foundation in Humanities and Creative Futures, Dr. Perry's professional interests center on Open Education, with current research specializations encompassing inclusive learning practices, digital literacy enhancement, the design of effective learning environments, and the optimization of student experience in higher education settings. Her demonstrated expertise spans curriculum design, educational development programs, and initiatives aimed at improving student engagement. Through her contributions, she supports the creation of accessible and innovative learning opportunities, reflecting her commitment to advancing teaching and learning excellence in the university context.
