Kim Martin is a Lecturer in the School of Education within the College of Education, Behavioural and Social Sciences at Adelaide University. With more than 30 years of experience in education, she has held various teaching and leadership roles across schools, not-for-profit organisations, and educational institutions in South Australia. Kim possesses a strong background in digital learning and inclusive technologies. She is a passionate advocate for the intentional use of technologies to support access to curriculum and resources, enabling learners to demonstrate their understanding, knowledge, interests, and growth. Her professional interests encompass ways in which technology can reduce barriers to learning and understanding, including support for diverse learners and assisting non-Aboriginal children to connect to the Country where they live, play, and learn.
Kim Martin has received notable recognition for her educational contributions, including designation as an Apple Distinguished Educator and Google Certified Innovator. She is also a World Teachers' Day Award recipient, ACCE Teacher of the Year, EdTechSA Teacher of the Year, and recipient of the EdTechSA Leading Light Award. In her teaching role, she delivers courses such as EDUC 3070 Technology by Design, EDUC 5253 Curriculum and Pedagogy 3 (Arts and Technologies), EDUC 1077 Theories of Learning, EDUC 2090 Technologies Curriculum 1, and EDUC 6050 Curriculum and Pedagogy 3 (Arts and Technologies). Her part-time position, spanning Wednesday to Friday, underscores her commitment to advancing educational practices through technology integration.
