Rate My Professor Kim Powell

As principal investigator, Powell has obtained major funding, including a $1,021,343 R01 grant from the National Institute on Aging (2022-2025) titled 'Reducing Avoidable Nursing Home-to-Hospital Transfers of Residents with ADRD: An Analysis of Interdisciplinary Team Communication using Text Messages,' and the Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators (2024-2027, $449,000) for 'Enhancing Dementia Care: Bridging the Rural Gap with Telehealth.' She was inducted as a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association (2024) and holds Fellowship in the American Academy of Nursing. Additional honors include the Harriet H. Werley Award (2022) for a paper on telehealth informatics, Best Paper in Health Information Management (2021), Research Spotlight Award from the University of Tennessee (2019), and Outstanding Dissertation Award from Sigma Theta Tau (2017).
