Professor Lincoln C. Wood is a Professor in the Department of Management within the Otago Business School at the University of Otago. He earned his BSc in Chemistry and Statistics, BCom (Hons) in Operations Management, MCom in Operations and Supply Chain Management, and PhD in Operations and Supply Chain Management, all from the University of Auckland. Prior to joining the University of Otago in 2017, he held the position of Senior Lecturer in the Graduate School of Management at the University of Auckland. Earlier in his career, he worked at Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand, and Curtin University in Western Australia. In December 2024, Professor Wood was promoted to full Professor, recognizing his contributions to supply chain and operations management research.
Professor Wood's academic interests center on operations and supply chain management, including logistics, sustainable supply chains, big data analytics, blockchain applications, and humanitarian supply chains. His research has garnered over 6,700 citations on Google Scholar, reflecting substantial influence in the field. Notable publications include 'Big data analytics in sustainable humanitarian supply chain: barriers and their interactions' (2022, Annals of Operations Research), 'Blockchain-Based Frameworks for Food Traceability: A Systematic Review' (2023, Sustainability), 'Transportation capacity shortage influence on logistics service quality during the COVID-19 outbreak' (2022, Heliyon), and 'When suppliers engage in sustainable supply chain management: The role of supply chain complexity under resource dependence contingencies' (2024, International Journal of Operations & Production Management). He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Supply Chain Management and Global Business Review. Professor Wood has supervised numerous PhD and MSc students, many of whom have obtained prominent academic and industry positions. He has contributed to funded projects, including a Health Research Council grant on system-wide perspectives on surgical delays. Additionally, he has delivered customized international business courses, such as for NYU Stern, and participated in initiatives addressing food waste and Pacific food systems.
