Mairi Macintyre serves as Professor (Teaching Focussed) in the WMG Education division at the University of Warwick's Warwick Manufacturing Group. With a background as a mechanical engineer, she holds an MSc from the University of Strathclyde Faculty of Engineering and a Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods for Social Science from the University of Warwick. Having joined WMG in 2000, her career includes roles as Principal Teaching Fellow and Associate Professor, demonstrating dedication to advancing teaching and research in service systems and operations management.
Her research specializations include lean implementation in healthcare, continuous improvement, design thinking, technology-enhanced learning, customer value creation, safety measurement, service design and delivery, and behavioural operations management. At Warwick, she leads the Service Design and Delivery module (ES93Z-15), contributes to Postgraduate Award in Curriculum Development in Higher Education, and engages in Warwick International Higher Education Academy activities such as learning circles on neurodiversity and co-creation, as well as networks for teaching-focused professors.
